Aamir Khan the Salman's close friend had aptly said in Agenda Aaj Tak that Salman Khan is the only star in Bollywood. Whatever antics he does in his movies from tearing off his shirt to wearing inverted glasses, everything becomes a fad. 

Based on Telugu movie "Stalin" (2006), Jai Ho is a complete Salman show.This movie is a full time entertainer replete with action, romance, dance, comedy, thrill, emotion, drama, patriotism, pathos and so on.

It's the story of an army man Jai Agnihotri, who is leading a civilian's life due to some unknown reasons. But the sense of righteousness is infused in him to such an extent that he is unable to tolerate any wrong doing so much so that he often lands in troubles.

He is supported in his rightful endeavors by his sister Geeta and two friends-one is a doc and the other probably a corporate honcho.

Jai is a happy,joyful and fun loving person, but is so much disturbed by the vice around that he decides to change it himself and this he does by propagating a lovely mantra which says, "if you help someone and the other person thanks you, ask him to help three other people in return and those three persons should help three others, thus making a huge chain of goodness!!!"

The concept is beautiful and its implementation is even better.

Since the hero is Salman Khan, there is a huge army of villains too! From a corrupt minister, a vicious  daughter of a politician, a corrupt son-in law, a six pack monster type son and of course police officers who have turned dishonest, Salman fights innumerable baddies in the movie.

There is a lot of action and drama, but romance has not been forgotten by the director.

love affair of jai with Pinky (Daisy Shah) who lives in the neighborhood is movie's romantic relief.

Although she had very little to do in this movie, yet she has not failed to impress. Tabu as expected, has done her job really well. From songs to dance, everything in the movie is first class!

Those who love Salman, masala films and conventional cinema, should not miss "Jai Ho"!

SHAHID ALL SET FOR THE FINAL SCHEDULE OF "HAIDER"

Shahid Kapoor is all set for the final schedule of his forthcoming movie "Haider", which will take place in Kashmir.This hero will be going bald in few days for the movie and he took twitter to express his mixed feelings about the last schedule of the movie.

ARE RANBIR & KATRINA NO MORE TOGETHER?

'Ranbir Kapoor' and 'Katrina Kaif' have never opened up about their relationship, but both have been spotted holidaying together and at many events shutterbugs have caught them together. 

But, now there is a buzz around that both of them have separated their ways. It is listen that marriage has come on their way. Well, in between there were rumours that Katrina has said a ‘NO’ to get hitched with RK, but now if the sources are to be believed it vice a versa. 

A source says, “While Kat is at that stage in her career where she is ready for marriage, RK feels that it could damage his soaring success. The duo flew to New York to bring in the New Year but returned separately. There were reports that the actress had decided to stay back because she was unwell but it is now learnt that the couple had a fight in New York when Katrina brought up marriage and the Kapoor boy said he was not ready and needed to focus on his career.”

“Sadly Katrina herself doesn’t know where they are headed today... She still loves him but Ranbir has told his friends that they have broken up. Both are giving each other some space at the moment,” the source added.

WILL AISH MAKE HER COMEBACK WITH MANI RATNAM’S NEXT?

Few months back there were reports about 'Aishwarya Rai Bachchan' making her comeback on big screen with Prahlad Kakkar’s film "Happy Anniversary". But, that rumours were slammed by Aish’s husband Abhishek Bachchan.

Well, now it is learnt that the actress will be making her comeback with Mani Ratnam’s next movie. The director has worked with the actress in movies like ‘Iruvar’ (Tamil), ‘Guru’ and ‘Raavan’ and wants her to star in his next film.

A source said, “Mani is planning to direct a movie which has a strong female protagonist’s character. He feels there is little room for Abhishek in his next.”

If the reports are to be belived Aishwarya has also given her nod for the flick.

An insider reveals, “Aishwarya was very clear about her priorities after she became a mother. She gave hundred percent of her time and concentration to her daughter Aaraadhya for two years. Now that Aaraadhya is ready for play school, Aishwarya can start thinking of coming back to acting.”

The actress was keen to make her comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali or Mani Ratnam.

The source added, “She was finalized for the item song in SLB’s Ram Leela. But she wanted some changes in the lyrics which Sanjay refused. While she is looking forward to working with SLB she’s all set to return with Mani’s next project.”

"JAI HO" GETS A U/A CERTIFICATE?

Salman Khan starrer "Jai Ho" is all set to release on January 24th, 2014 and the actor's small (kids) fans need to be accompanied by adults to watch the movie. 

According to the reports, "Jai Ho" has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification with a U/A certificate and a number of cuts.

A source said, "Actually, this is quite an unusual situation for a movie starring Salman Khan. His movies are usually passed with a 'U' certificate with minimum or no cuts. But "Jai Ho" is a political thriller about a common man's successful attempt to foil an assassination bid against a chief minister." 

"There are many very hard-hitting dialogues against corruption in present-day Indian politics. This is Salman's first movie with a strong political statement," added the source.

Well, it is learnt that there are some dialogues, which are spoken by Salman in this movie against the politicians and CBFC has asked to tone down or beep out that dialogues.

"There were no abusive dialogues. Salman doesn't abuse on screen. But there are several references to current politics that could have made real-life politicians uncomfortable. These have gone. Also, some seconds from a few action scenes that were found to be lengthy," said the source.

In recent times, it will be Salman’s first movie to get a U/A certificate.

SINGHAM 2 PROMO SHOT BY ROHIT LAUNCHED

Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Singham 2 had short promo (made by Rohit) launched at the Police function last night. 

The promo was specially shot for the occasion. Says Kareena, "I am looking forward to starting work on the movie, which goes on floors in the first week of March. We will hit screens on 15 August (Independence Day) this year. Like our police force, "Singham 2" is an emotional journey for me too, as it means I will join Rohit and Ajay with whom I did two of the Golmaal movies. SUNNY LEONE AND HONEY SINGH TEAM UP FOR "RAGINI MMS 2" SONG

Yo Yo Honey Singh has proved his mettle with a string of chartbusters in the year 2013 and this year too seems to be equally exciting for the rapper.

Honey Singh will be seen sharing screen space with Indo-Canadian actress Sunny Leone in a special video from Sunny's upcoming film, "Ragini MMS 2". The duo appeared in front of the media and were all praises for each other. The pornstar-turned-actor also posted on her Twitter account, "Super excited to work with @asliyoyo for "Ragini mms 2"! DEF gonna rock out Bollywood!!" The song is titled "Chaar Bottle Vodka".

The Actress Deepika Padukone is in no mood to reveal her private life in public anytime soon. 

The actress has recently been romantically linked with her "Ram-Leela" co-star Ranveer Singh and she says that she is very much single. The rumor mill was abuzz with link up rumors between the two co-stars after the actress was spotted spending her birthday with Ranveer in New York. The actress recently in an interview denied these rumours.

At a magazine cover launch event on 16th January Deepika had once again denied the link up saying that if it makes the media happy, then she is single.

SALMAN TO APPEAR IN JODHPUR COURT 29TH JANUARY

'Salman Khan' will be appearing in a local court in Jodhpur on 29th Jan in an Arms Act case.

After hearing and examining prosecution witnesses on Wednesday, the court has now asked the actor to appear and give his statement. 

Salman's counsel, Hastimal Saraswat said, "Salman has been asked to appear personally before the court on 29th January." 

During the shooting of Hindi film "Hum Saath Saath Hain", allegedly two blackbucks, were killed on the outskirts of Kankani village near Jodhpur. With Salman even few other actors were accused of killing blackbucks. 

The actor was also accused of carrying illegal arms. At that time a complaint was filed against Salman on charges of being involved in hunting of protected blackbucks.

REMO WANTS A KNOWN ACTOR FOR "ABCD 2"

Remo D'Souza is all set for the sequel of his movie "ABCD" and the choreographer-turned-director wants a known actor to play the lead in the movie.

Few days back, there were reports that Varun Dhawan has been approached to play the lead in "ABCD 2", but nothing is yet confirmed. 

Remo said, "For the lead actor (for ABCD 2), talks are still going on (with actors)... We are searching for a known actor." 

"Let us see who agrees to it," he added.

Remo further said that "ABCD 2" will see the original cast and also some new actors.

The 39 year old said, "If I talk about its cast then you will get to see Prabhudheva, Ganesh Acharya, Dharmesh, Lauren (Gottlieb) and Punit (Pathak) again in the part two. Some new actors will also be roped in. The talks are going on."

"Dedh Ishqiya" Review: Old-world charm with a tangy twist

Khawatinon hazrat, tashrif rakhiye, ek Banarsi paan nosh farmaiye. Aur phir, itminan se, hum aagaaz karenge is dilkash kisse ka — "Dedh Ishqiya".

There are nawabs, sher-o-shairi, and a courtly old-world romance but make no mistake, this is a twisted theatre of the absurd in which the gamut of human folly - greed, decadence, deceit, stupidity - is laid out for us. Once again, Abhishek and co-writer Vishal Bhardwaj find the vein of humour in the darkest situations, including a stand-off in which many guns are pointed at many heads.

Khalujan and Babban, played nicely by Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi, are petty thieves with such wit and charm that you want to hang out with them. These are honourable conmen, unafraid of punching, shooting, brandishing knives but when the ladies are in trouble, they come gallantly to the rescue

There is a superbly funny running gag about the stages of love and a gorgeous climactic shoot-out. Best of all, the movie gives us women who are unapologetically scheming and lusty. They break all the rules and get away with it. It is wonderfully refreshing. And yet, "Dedh Ishqiya" does not have the seductive sparkle that Ishqiya did. In the first movie, Babban referred to the heroine Krishna as a sutli bomb and desi tamancha.

The ladies here - Begum Para played by Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Muniya, played by Huma Qureshi - are not as deliciously twisted though Madhuri is still compelling. The first half of the movie is devoted to a swayamvar that Begum Para holds to choose a husband - the best poet wins the bride.

The construct feels artificial and the pacing is languid. I also struggled with the Urdu - it was melodious but I wish I understood more of it. 

Still, Dedh Ishqiya is worth watching just for Abhishek Chaubey's ambition. He is not constrained by the demands of the box office.  I am eager to see what trouble Khalujan and Babban will get into next.

"Comedy Nights With Kapil" : Madhuri aur Huma ka Dedh Ishqiya

Madhuri Dixit on "Comedy Nights With Kapil"

Madhuri Dixit is doing all that it takes to promote her latest movie "Dedh Ishqiya". From Dance India Dance 4 to Bigg Boss 7 and now Comedy Nights With Kapil, Madhuri is now a pro when it comes to making promotional appearances.

Just before she started shoot for the episode Madhuri Dixit wrote on Twitter, “Time to get your funny bone tickled, at Comedy Nights with Kapil.” Kapil Sharma was also very excited to have Madhuri Dixit on his show and expressed the same on Twitter, “Today shooting with my all time favourite Madhuri Dixit.”

Huma Qureshi too accompanied Madhuri Dixit on Comedy Nights With Kapil. While Madhuri chose a purple and gold colour Indian outfit by Manish Malhotra, Huma was stylish in a printed shift dress and black pumps. Huma too should have donned an Indian ensemble. She could have looked better. Remember the red anarkali she wore on Bigg Boss 7? Total, “paisa-vasool” that dress was!

On "Comedy Nights With Kapil", Madhuri Dixit performed some of her classical dance moves from "Dedh Ishqiya" and sing a song and shero shairi also.

Coming back to Dedh Ishqiya: Madhuri is paired opposite Naseeruddin Shah, while Huma Qureshi is paired opposite Arshad Warsi. The movie was released on January 10, 2014.

As we all know, Kapil Sharma is looking out for a new Gutthi, has been trying out different actors for the same. Gaurav Gera fell flat during the Saif Ali Khan episode, and now we will have Raju Srivastav make an entry trying to impress the viewers.

The episode was scheduled to air on Saturday, January 04, 2014 on Colors.

The Star Deepika Padukone has worked with actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan and Ranbir Kapoor and few days back there were reports that she has also been signed for Rakesh Roshan’s next movie opposite Hrithik Roshan. And now there is a buzz around that Deepika might star opposite none other than Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan.

Recently, when she was asked which actor she would like to work with, the actress had said, "Every year I am asked which Bollywood actor I would like to work with now. I hope in the next one or two years I will get to work with Hrithik, Salman and Aamir." 

And now it seems like soon her wish will come true. 

The movie will be produced by Excel Entertainment and the makers of the project are keeping the details under wraps. However, it is learnt that the shooting will start from July or August this year.

The film "Yaariyan" opens to a scene of a play in motion, one that's telling the story of Indo-Pak war. When suddenly there is a scene that requires "Ma", only "Ma" is busy kissing her boyfriend backstage.

Such is the comedy. Pretty immature. It is to save your from the torture of watching this film that reviewers like myself are writing this. I give one star to the film,purely for the effort of making the movie. 

"Yaariyan" is an entirely disappointing movie. The characters are flawed, and the acting is fake. There's not story or plot in the movie. This college in Sikkim has five young kids. The boys just have the one dream of gaining access to the girls' hostel and kissing a girl. Mind you, before heading out there, the hero even takes the permission of his aunt and the girls' hostel's warden. Trouble comes in the form of a company wanting to build a casino on the spot where the college now stands. The challenge is to win five competitions, between the Australians and the college kids. 

Lots of action, lost of attempt to create drama, and not-so-great dialogues that can take over the film. 

Avoid watching the movie.

But atleast we can appriciate the efforts of these new comers.

EARLIER "PHOTOCOPY" WAS KNOWN AS "XEROX"

'Xerox' was changed to 'Photocopy'

Salman Khan's new song "Photocopy" from the movie "Jai Ho" has been getting positive response. The lyrics and the music of the song have caught on to the fancy of audiences. But, no one knows that the song was changed at the end moment.

Earlier, the song had the brand name Xerox fixed in a line instead of the word photocopy, which is in the final edit of the song. The makers of the movie also asked for permission from the required authority to use the word in the song. But it was a long process to get the required permissions and formalities in place. That is when the makers decided to create the word photocopy instead.

According to the sources, the makers strongly wanted to use Xerox, as the word has more of a recall value. However, the lengthy process kept them at bay.

However, they are happy with the way the song has turned out and are glad that the audiences have liked it.

In the "Dabangg" series there have been songs which had brand names like 'Jhandu Baam' and 'Fevicol'.

When contacted Sohail Khan, he confirmed the news and said, "Earlier the word Xerox was decided to be used in the song but getting permission to use the brand name would be very time consuming so we stuck to photocopy and I'm glad the song has got very good response from the audiences."

GOVINDA REFUSES TO DO SALMAN'S MOVIE

Govinda say 'No' to Salman's Film

Actor Salman Khan, who will soon be producing the remake of Mahesh Manjrekar's Marathi movie "Shikshanacha Aaicha Gho" in Hindi, says that he approached Govinda to play the protagonist but he refused the offer.

"I approached Govinda but he refused it, seriously. For the last three years I have been after Govinda to do the movie but he said that he did not like the movie,"Salman said, who will be seen in a guest appearance in the remake. The Marathi version of the movie revolved around a father's quest to see his son as the best student.This film featured Sachin Khedekar, Bharat Jadhav and Saksham Kulkarni in lead roles. 

News also had it that Paresh Rawal will play the main lead in the movie. When asked to confirm this, Salman said, "We haven't finalised the cast yet, we may title it 'God Only Knows' and it will go on the floors by February."

I have been thinking of one nice thing to say about this movie, which I suspect was made because its title can be read as "Jo Bhi Karvalo". it was very funny but Sadly, not at all.

Sad because I always have hopes of the Arshad Warsi a very talented actor. Because he has delivered, in the past. But in this one, he is made to play a bumbling sleuth, saddled by a mommy ( Shivpuri) who wears polka dotted frocks and dark glasses and bumps into furniture, and a girl-friend ( Khan) who is a uniformed female- Dabangg-type cop but is also to be found in teeny bikinis and short frocks.

He is then dumped into a plot that that is so asinine that it leaves one speechless.

What can you say when you are faced with characters who make no sense, and speak only nonsense? Jafferi is an 'international terrorist' in this movie, whatever that might be, who is armed with a 'neutron bomb' that nestles in a necklace. He also dons several terrible disguises, one of which involves a huge wig and blackface. Raaz roams around with a couple of fellows. Hirjee does exactly what I'm not sure.

Actually I am not sure of anything post watching "Mr Joe B. Carvalho" other than wonder just how I sat through all of it. Mr Warsi, `hum se yeh kyon karvaya'?
